Fiber to the Home Conference 2018

Here's how the FTTH Conference organizers are striving to expand the scope of the event beyond attracting just C-suite-level attendees.

Fiber to the Home Conference 2017

Overview

The Fiber to the Home [FTTH] Conference 2018, the world’s largest event dedicated to fiber-based networks, services, and applications, expects to host more than 3,000 engineers, senior technology experts, telecom operators, investors, and innovative digital players representing 100 countries at Feria Valencia, Spain’s oldest event venue.

CHALLENGES FTTH Conference organizers are striving to expand the scope of the event beyond attracting just C-suite-level attendees, as it has in the past, which “is reflected in the FTTH Conference 2018’s tagline: ‘We connect technology, policy, and finance,’” Jacopo Bellelli, FTTH Council Europe’s communications and public-affairs manager, told Convene. “We also aim at attracting participants from consulting, research, and academic institutions, so we are offering several discount possibilities for journalists and students.”

INITIATIVES A large part of drawing an expanded audience involves creating content with wide appeal. This year’s programming will focus on subjects such as connected and automated driving, the Internet of Things, and data-related issues. Attendees will also experience a new registration system, according to Bellelli. “For the first time,” he said, “our attendees have access to an all-inclusive, best-value pass that guarantees admission to our conference, workshops, exhibition, hands-on demos, first-class catering, and, especially for this occasion, also to our signature party, Fibration Night.”
