The satirical newspaper recently debuted a program called Onion Talks; in the first episode, “young media professional Cameron Hughes” outlines his vision for a compost-fueled car — completely sidestepping the question of how the vehicle would actually be built.
The glib, self-serving presentation perfectly mocks a certain kind of TED speaker: “Economists will try to tell you this is impossible. I’ve already thought of that. Feasibility deals with implementation. I’m not involved in that. … Behind every great achievement is a visionary. I’ll be your visionary, and you do the things I come up with.”
