The ‘Philosophical Tree’ mural, painted by Italian artist Andreco in Bologna, uses photocatalytic paint for the 59-foot installation on the side of an apartment building. The paint absorbs nitrogen monoxide, helping purify the air. “It’s a conceptual artwork,” Andreco explained. “It doesn’t aim to be a concrete technical solution for the pollution reduction, but an excuse to sensitize the citizen about the environmental issue of air pollution.”
