As many as half a million people are homeless in the United States and many more lack adequate housing, a figure that reaches more than a billion worldwide. It is a complicated, painful issue with many facets, including the question of what happens when homeless people and those who spend most of their time on the streets share the same sidewalks and spaces as meeting attendees.
