I am a late-to-the-party techie person. I didn’t start out searching out the best new gadget, app, etc. But with more to do and less time, I have been drawn into using my smartphone as an extension of my job and not just something I use to watch funny cat videos.

I am not sure how many people know about Super Planner, available on Android and iPhone. This is a good app. I was surprised at the components it offers. It is a go-to while on a site visit and you need to calculate your expected number of attendees for your meal event within the space that the venue has offered to you. This app allows you to get an idea for yourself if that space will work. You type in the square footage, the number of attendees, and the desired room set, and presto — it will tell you approximately how many people you can get into the space.

Add in your audiovisual needs and you can really see what you are working with. This works in a pinch while on site, if you need to figure out if you can afford to order that additional gallon of coffee — regular, decaf, and hot water, of course. Although it is not a free app, to me it is worth it. It has helped me when I needed answers in an instant.
