Embracing Wellness at IMEX America 2015

New initiatives at this year's IMEX America in Las Vegas had attendees up and running — as well as practicing yoga, meditation, and other mindfulness activities.

IMG_0556At this year’s IMEX America in Las Vegas, show organizers brought some Zen to the trade-show floor. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the 2.25-million-square-foot Sands Expo was a meditation room, where Smart Monday keynote speaker Lee Papa, an author and meditation trainer, offered mindfulness and meditation sessions throughout the four-day show.

The meditation room was just one component of Be Well at IMEX, a new program that aims to bring mindfulness and overall wellness to the meeting experience. Educational programming included a dedicated health and wellbeing track, and attendees were offered healthier food options as well as the opportunity to participate in a five-kilometer run.

“With packed schedules, healthy habits can often take a back seat,” said Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, in a press release. “We’re keen to help attendees relax and recharge so they’re in top form to make the most of their busy days on the show floor.”
